Asgard Slots

Who or what is Asgard, you might ask? Asgard is the fabled location where the Norse gods are said to live. You’ll see many of the gods in this slot game, which is designed to bring you surprises, treats, and plenty of action as you play.

You could say our slot game review has been designed the same way. We’ve packed all the facts and features into our review here, so you can find out more about the Asgard slot before you play it for real.

Which developer is responsible for Asgard?

There are several games that feature the word in the title, but this version comes to us from Realtime Gaming.

Does it come with a demonstration version as well?

It does, yes, so you can check out its features before you try playing with real bets.

Does the Norse god theme work well here?

We think so. It is common enough to find slot games based around the Greek gods, so it is refreshing to see one based on the Norse ones instead. You might well recognize a few of the names.

A dramatic design is seen as the game loads

The title appears above the reels, and there is a starry sky above that. Planets are hinted at too, so there is an otherworldly feeling about this. The whole thing has several Nordic touches that work well.

More about the basic features of the Asgard RTG slot game

The five-reel format is put to work here, offering three large icons on each reel. A quick glance reveals no progressive jackpots are in action.

The basic wild uses that word in gold with an ornate design around it. This Golden Wild subs for everything except the scattered bonus symbol and carries a 2x multiplier. This is shown as a silvery-blue word, again surrounded by a similar design.

How many paylines can you play on?

This game dispenses with paylines, instead opting for the All Ways Pays format. This means all 243 ways you could collect a prize are included on each spin.

Choose a single bet per spin

The game requires you to select one wager for each spin. The default amount is 90 cents, but this can be reduced to a minimum level of 30 cents. The other end of the scale gives you the possibility of a $7.50 maximum bet.

This consists of several pages to explain all the features you might see if you play the game.

Look out for the random bonus feature

Random bonuses do not require a known trigger. In Asgard, you need to watch out for the Thunderbolt feature. If this occurs, you can watch as between one and five reels go completely wild. This will happen before prizes are granted, so it could change the outcome of that spin.

What about the option to score some free spins?

This is the best part of the game. There are four features in total, but they are progressively unlocked. So, finding three bonus icons will unlock the first one. Once you return to the game, you may then eventually trigger the bonus again. You need to play through a certain quantity of triggers before releasing another version to play.

Here they are:

1. Goddess Feature – 15 free games with a 3x multiplier 2. Loki’s Magic – unlocked on the 5th trigger of the feature, with 20 freebies, wilds on the third reel and other features too 3. Thunder God Feature – unlocked when you reach the 10th trigger, offering 25 freebies with some wild multipliers to shake things up a bit 4. Valhalla Feature – unlocked if you reach the 15th trigger of the game, with 30 freebies, morphing symbols, and some multipliers thrown in for good measure

RTP information

This hasn’t been released, but many slots from RTG tend to sit at around 95%, sometimes a little higher.

Our rating for the Asgard slot game from Realtime Gaming

This is a 9/10 game. The only thing we didn’t like was the number of times you would need to trigger the bonus feature before you start unlocking new versions. You would need to play for a long time to try them all, so that is something that would only be open to those with a much larger budget to stretch to a longer playing period.

Double up some prizes with the wild icon

The biggest prize on a line is awarded for five wilds, but you can double up some of the 500-coin prizes if you find four with a wild to complete the set too. The biggest prizes would likely be those won during several free games, where several prizes would provide a better potential total.

Play the demo for a while to try it

Asgard has lots to offer, but it is clearly designed for players who like to settle down with one game to play over a long period.

Would you play this one for real?

If you would, most RTG casinos should carry it for Aussie players to check out.
